Founder
Late Mr. Angelo Carvalho (1958-2010) having graduated from Loyola College in Chennai and a Fellow Member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India had his training with M/s. Fraser & Ross, one of the leading audit firms in India. He started his own private practice in the year 1985 under the name M/s. Carvalho Associates, an audit, tax & business consulting firm in Chennai.
Since 1991, India has opened up its market to the global economy. There is rapid foreign direct investment into India from all parts of the world. With the emergence of corporate governance throughout the world, there is a need for accurate and timely financial reporting. Also, in a country like India with numerous Central and State laws & regulations, investors need clarity on a number of issues relating to accounting, audit, tax, consulting and regulatory compliance related matters. In view of the above need, there is a need to provide a personal, partner-led service aimed at entrepreneurial micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs), large corporates, multinational companies and high-net worth individuals with an international dimension. This firm continues its professional practice under the auspices of young and dynamic Chartered Accountants. The mission is to position the firm as a genuine alternative to the Big 4’s, to provide clients with guidance on every aspect of accounting, audit, tax and regulatory matters with emphasis on sound conceptual thinking and objectivity and also to provide an independent and objective opinion for practical matters by undertaking in depth research and identifying best practices on relevant issues.
